Indie rock fans everywhere, gather around. Lucy Dacus has finally announced that her much anticipated fourth album, Forever is a Feeling, will be released on March 28, 2025. She will also be heading off on tour later this spring (presale started today). She kicked off the album release cycle with two singles, “Ankle” and “Limerence,” on January 15, 2025.
“Ankles” is a baroque pop track about yearning and desire. With lyrics like, “Pull me by the ankles to the edge of the bed / And take me like you do in your dreams,” she sings about wanting someone that she cannot have. She described it as “much more sexy than I usually go for, but it’s a fun little bop” in an interview with Dazed Magazine. It released alongside a music video with Havana Rose Liu.
“Limerence” slows things down with a heartfelt ballad. She gets introspective with lyrics like, “Why do I feel alive when I’m behaving my worst?” and “I’m thinking about breaking your heart someday soon / And if I do, I’ll be breaking mine too.” The track tugs at the heart strings and reminds listeners why Lucy is one of the most talented voices in the industry these days.
